Do we want Lamps to Return? Goodbye N’Golo Kante?
Welcome everyone, to the latest instalment of Chelsea gossip, as I provide you the latest information regarding all things Chelsea! Chelsea’s huge Europa League final with Arsenal is still over a week away, which means there is nothing but stories and transfer rumours for the press to write about. Do we believe them all? Absolutely not, but there could some truths in some of them, and it has given us fans a lot to ponder over the summer.
Frank Lampard to replace Sarri?
The question in the title was ‘Do we want Lamps to return?’, and I’ll be surprised if anyone was to say no, considering his legendary status for this club. However, regardless of whether he gets Derby promoted or not, we cannot give him the job as Chelsea manager just yet. One managerial season in the Championship is not enough managerial experience, and he simply cannot take over as Mauricio Sarri has not done a bad job at all.
I know most Chelsea fans are mixed, and even myself has criticised him for being too stubborn, but we can’t change him for Lampard just because he’s a legend, we’re not Manchester United – acting only on sentimental values.
Massimiliano Allegri on the other hand…
Now, the news broke out on Friday that serial winner Massimiliano Allegri will leave Juventus at the end of the season, meaning he will be searching for a new club. He has been linked to a move to the Premiere League for many seasons, but felt obligated to continue at Juventus and win for them an historic treble – which didn’t come despite their acquisition of Cristiano Ronaldo. He may feel that he wants a new challenge, a fresh one, and may want to test himself in the greatest league in the world. Should we be interested in him?
I believe our most successful seasons were when we playing defensive football, with exciting counter attacking play, and I believe he can get this from our team. Mauricio Sarri wants us to emulate Manchester City, but it requires time, and our board, and the majority of fans will not give it to him. Perhaps now would be the ideal time to move in on Allegri?
Four Loan Players to come back?
As the transfer ban is pending on our club, it seems like we may be in a position where we cannot buy any new players, aside from Christian Pulisic who we have already agreed a deal with. Thankfully, we can recall players from loan, and we have many that we me have to depend on next year. So, defender Kurt Zouma, an old fan-favourite has started to look resolute for Everton, and would be an excellent back-up for us next season.
Youngster Reece James, currently playing for Wigan, managed to really make an impression up north, as he was regarded as the best fullback in the league. Our full back options can be considered our weakest points, so getting him back should be a no brainer. Other loaned out players include Mason Mount at Derby, and Michy Batshuayi of Crystal Palace, and both would be excellent squad players for us, and can really bolster our attacking options.
PSG may Tempt One of Our Stars
Not only should we recall loan players, but we HAVE to keep our best players. We know that Eden Hazard is likely to leave and play for Real Madrid next season, but there are reports that PSG are interested in our 2nd best performing player – N’golo Kante. He, like Hazard, is irreplaceable, and we cannot afford to let him go at any price. He’s just the type of midfielder that they need, and anyone would like a return back home at least once in their career. But please don’t go N’golo!
Thanks for reading the latest gossip regarding everything Chelsea, stay tuned for more build-up to our Europa League final next Wednesday in the coming days.
