Prepare for a long summer of gossip. We’ve barely been crowned champions of the Europa League, but we cannot get out of the papers for other matters. This is just the start of it. More news is expected to filter through the media soon about Hazard’s and Sarri’s future, and potential placements if/when they go. The transfer ban doesn’t help us replace the former, so every Chelsea fan has the right to be concerned heading into next season. Let’s check out the latest gossip surrounding our club.

Mauricio Sarri to Juventus?

It appears that Mauricio Sarri has already decided to leave Chelsea after one season, if you are believing various sources, and some quotes he has given reporters. He said he deserves another season at Chelsea, but do Chelsea want to keep him? Would he rather return back home to Italy? It all seems a bit unsure at the moment. Let’s think about it. You could move to a team that has Cristiano Ronaldo, and several other world class players that will want to win the Champions League, something they desire but cannot obtain, or stay at Chelsea, continue to build on a good season, and further stamp his philosophy on the club. The problem with the 2nd option is that he cannot buy players for Chelsea this summer, and with him expected to lose Hazard, it will make things extra difficult. My gut reaction is that he will leave, and to be fair, he’ll want to be clapped out of the front door, instead of booted out the back, which could easily happen at this club next season.

Eden Hazard – How Much Money Can We Get?

Hazard said after the final, ‘I think this is probably goodbye’. As if it wasn’t stone cold enough, even the man himself as said he wants to leave Chelsea, to pursue his boyhood dream of playing for Real Madrid. You cannot have any ill-feeling towards one of our greatest ever players. So, how much money can we get for him? We may not be able to spend the money for one year, but let’s see if we can get a huge profit. There are reports that we will ask for nothing less than £115million, but realistically it’s going to be in the £90-£100million. Real Madrid have overspent on players for decades, so I hope we get at least a nine figured number for our loss, or else I’d be even more majorly disappointed.

Chelsea to meet Liverpool in European Super Cup Final

By winning the Europa League, Chelsea qualify for the European Super Cup in August, as we face Champions League winners, Liverpool. Travelling to Baku was quite far, but now we have the considerably shorter journey to…..wait, Istanbul!? UEFA simply don’t like us! Regardless, it will be a great curtain raiser to our season, and let’s hope we can win this cup after losing in 2012 and 2013 to Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich respectively.

Liverpool may have great memories of Istanbul, the location for their epic comeback against AC Milan, but if you look into the details, they haven’t won a game in 90 minutes there in their history. Let’s hope we can win this trophy for the 2nd time in our history, after our 1998 success against Real Madrid.

Chelsea dominate Europa League Squad

Time to finish on some good news. After our triumph in Baku last Wednesday, UEFA have announced the Europa League squad of the tournament. There are 18 players announced, and eight of those players were Chelsea players. Hats off to Kepa Arrizabalaga, David Luiz, César Azpilicueta, Jorginho, N’Golo Kante, Olivier Giroud, Pedro Rodriguez and Eden Hazard. Without losing a match, and only drawing three matches across the tournament, it’s a fantastic achievement that we fully deserved.

Thanks for reading, and stay tuned throughout the summer and beyond for all the latest Chelsea news.
